A view from the high backside of Machu Picchu

From the top of the public part of the ruins is a trail continuing uphill through brush and then leveling and going around this point. The view is not of a small pebble stream; the trees in the island are large and the roar of the waterfalls is loud even 2,000 feet up.

No guard rails. Slipping and falling would not be healthy.

One signs some kind of release or registry of names to put with bodies for people who go this far.
